National Safety Programs
TPA has one of the largest
child safety programs in America, furnishing safety material to
schools. Speakers and films are provided. Your participation is not
required, but a portion of your dues assist in the purchase of
material for this program.

CHAD
C.H.A.D. is an acronym for Children
Have An iDentity. TPA joined the Illinois Department of
Transportation in supporting this program in 1993 and since then,
our organization has helped expand C.H.A.D. to over 29 states and
thousands of children. The C.H.A.D. program promotes special child
identification stickers that can be placed on children's car seats.
Should an emergency occur, these stickers can be used by hospital
personnel to contact parents or relatives.

Car Seat and Seat Belt Safety
- Promotes correct car seat usage and seat belts.
Bike
Rodeos - Teach children
the rules of safe riding.
Coffee Breaks
- Held on holiday weekends, posts set up coffee and rest stops for
travelers. It gives the traveler a chance to wake up and revitalize
themselves before continuing their journey.
School Crossing Guard Safety
- Safety vests and ponchos are provided by TPA posts to area schools
to promote cross walk safety.
